We are guessing you need no introduction to these guys. But in case you do, OFWGTKTA is short for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. They are a mind-blowing controversial alternative hip hop collective from Los Angeles, California. The group is led by rapper/producer Tyler, The Creator, and includes rappers Hodgy Beats, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis and Mike G, singer Frank Ocean, producers Left Brain, Syd tha Kyd and Matt Martians, and other a few non-musical members: notably Jasper Dolphin and Taco. The collective features groups within the main group, solo work by each of the artists and an all encompassing body called ODD FUTURE. These guys put out work to be sure.
ODD FUTURE Live @ UT in Philly
The show in Philly on October 22nd was sold out. The house was packed. The smell of weed hung thick in the air. A giant cat banner was suspended behind the DJ booth with two different colored eyes. ODD FUTURE took turns playing to the crowd by surfing in it, weilding light sabers and throwing water bottles into the teeming throng. The crowd reciprocated. When it was all said and done, 27 songs were played for the Philly crowd. The 26th and 27th songs were Encores. Tyler said his favorite show of all time was in Philly [first OFWGKTA show at the Barbary] and he and the ODD FUTURE crew backed it up through playing the only Encore given on this tour so far and performing approximately 8 more songs than in their average set.
